So last summer.. the summer of 2020.. (the dreaded, stuck at home year of 2020!) We decided to do a carnival in the garden.
Every year we try to get away, to Yarmouth, or somewhere on the English seaside, and as we wasnt able to do that in this year, we decided to try and bring a bit of that (mixed with a bit of fun fair) to our very own garden!

I made different stations with different carnival games, for the kids to play and win tickets. We also had a slush puppy station, and a popcorn station!

The games we did were:
RING TOSS.. Daddy and me had to drink a few beers, and a bottle of wine.. it was tough, but needs must! We then used some glow sticks as the rings.. made a little sign on picasrt.. and hey presto, ready to go!

CATCH A FISH.. My son just loves fishing and has many magnetic fishing sets.. so we popped some in the pool, with labels stuck to the underside with tape with differing number of tickets, and away they went.. you could also do this with hook a duck if you have ducks instead if fish 😊

BALL TOSS.. We had some mini inflatable drink holders (you can pick them up on amazon for around a fiver) and a couple of balls.. we also stuck labels at the bottom of these with differing number of tickets on them. Kids toss them into the hole to win those tickets.. (this one was hard! 🤣)

SHOOTING GALLERY.. I made and printed up some targets.. put them on some string in the garden.. and out came the nerf gun. You could also pop a bit of paint on the end of the bullet to see where you hit!

POP THE BALLOON.. For this, another printed sign.. on some cardboard (thanks amazon, have loads of that laying around!) Blew up, and stuck on the balloons (with ticket numbers behind), then, with a very closely watching adult stuck an open paperclip to the end of a nerf bullet, and we were open for business! (Just remember to take the paper clip off straight away as it will hurt if you get hit with one of those!)

Kids has loads of tickets, played all day long, and really had such a fun day! This was almost all made with a design app on my phone and printed out.. and then using what we had, or could get quite cheaply, to make the games!
Why not do your own carnival this year? We will do this again.. with different games so feel free to send me your ideas! 😊
